I’m an artist and a writer, and I make place-based projects driven by collaboration and creative research.

I make experimental essays, visual narratives, and platforms for participation, in an effort to unearth nuances of place. For many years I was a visiting artist, but now I stay close to home, thinking about the Bay Area and coastal northern California.

I have an MFA in Social Practice from the California College of the Arts (#tedpurvesforever). After CCA, I spent two years at the Headlands Center for the Arts, as a Graduate Fellow and then an Affiliate Artist. I was a Resident Artist at the Prelinger Library in San Francisco for six years. I taught design at Portland State University. I’ve worked as a visiting artist all across the U.S., and in Canada, Germany, and Japan.

I’m also a visual designer. There are some different projects over on the design side. 🙃
